WWE Star Set For Huge International Title Match

WWE Star Set For Huge International Title Match WWE

It appears that WWE and All Japan Pro Wrestling have a working relationship, with a WWE NXT star set up to challenge for an AJPW title.

Ahead of the January 3 AJPW show, the promotion has been teasing that an ‘assassin’ will challenge for the AJPW Triple Crown Heavyweight Championship at this event.

AJPW has now shown a video revealing that the mystery talent will come from WWE, and more specifically, the NXT brand.

In the video, AJPW President Tsuyoki Fukuda answered a phone call from WWE.

Fukuda thanked WWE for calling him back, before stating that AJPW wants a ‘strong superstar’ from the NXT brand.

He confirmed that he wants this talent for a ‘Triple Crown’ match, and finished the call by telling the caller to thank their boss in WWE for him.

This has fuelled speculation about which WWE star will soon visit Japan for this major match.

A Triple Crown Championship match is slated to take place ahead of January 3, with Katsuhiko Nakajima set to defend the gold against Kento Miyahara on December 31.

WWE stars have made rare appearances for other promotions under the Triple H regime, with Shinsuke Nakamura notably facing the Great Muta at NOAH The New Year 2023.

We will continue to provide updates on this WWE international appearance as they become available.
