WWE Introducing New Presentation Element To Shows Soon? WWE

A potential new presentation element could be in the process of being trialed with a view to it becoming a feature on WWE TV.

Throughout the years, WWE has often used its ‘lower tier’ shows to try things out before implementing them on Raw, SmackDown and premium live events.

This has included things like new camera angles being tried out on shows like Main Event and NXT, including a period of time in NXT where cameramen would actually get in the ring during matches, which isn’t something that moved to the main roster.

Something WWE has tried out a small number of times in recent years is referee POV cameras, which has usually been a small camera hooked onto the referee’s ear.

However, there have been a few issues with it so far, including connection issues, and even the camera itself not being stable enough and falling off during matches to the point referees have had to just ditch it and throw it away.

The company may be looking at another solution if this past weekend’s AAA show is a clue.

During the show, referees wore POV cameras on their heads – rather than the minimalist cameras on the ears, these were very obvious Go Pro type cameras attached to their foreheads via a very noticeable headband.

It remains to be seen whether this is the case, but this could be WWE utilizing AAA to try this out with a potential view to implementing it on main shows at some point in the future as a more reliable alternative to the smaller on-ear referee cameras.
