A report has emerged naming a WWE NXT star who was ‘cut’ from the Royal Rumble on January 28 2023 in San Antonio, Texas.
WWE Senior Vice President of Talent Development Creative Shawn Michaels had previously said to Fightful that WWE main roster higher ups had “reached out to NXT” with who they required for the match, choosing Roxanne Perez, Zoey Stark and Indi Hartwell to appear in the Women’s Royal Rumble match with Ivy Nile being “on hand as an alternate” if a last-minute replacement was needed.
However, Dave Meltzer, in the current Wrestling Observer Newsletter (subscription required) reports that Nile was actually cut from the Rumble match:
“The company brought in a few extra women for the Rumble as alternates.
“One name known for being a late cut was Ivy Nile.”
At present, there’s no news as to who the other NXT stars were.
A video of Zoey Stark’s reaction to her appearance in the Royal Rumble has been shared on social media.
Indi Hartwell recently shared a social media post that some feel indicates she may be joining the main roster.
