Backstage Incident Between Jade Cargill & Another WWE Star Update

An update has emerged following a report of heat between WWE’s Jade Cargill and Shayna Baszler that saw the pair involved in a confrontation.

The initial report came on March 7, 2025, stating that it stemmed from “a few months ago” and prior to Cargill’s injury.

According to Dave Meltzer, “a half dozen” people had told him what happened backstage, with claims that Cargill had “rubbed enough people in the Raw women’s division the wrong way.”

The report went on to state that Baszler “wanted to fight” Cargill until management were able to de-escalate the issue.

Meltzer has now provided an update on the issues between the pair in the Wrestling Observer Newsletter, writing:

As the story goes, there had been problems in the ring, some to do with botched spots, in the Baszler & Stark vs. Cargill & Belair matches. I was told that none would be a problem, that botched spots happen with everyone and they understood Cargill because of her look and AEW fame was going to be pushed heavily and was inexperienced at back-and-forth matches. The heat was the claim by other women that when there were problems in the ring, she’d blame the other person and was disrespectful.

The specific confrontation was Cargill pointing to a bruise on her arm and her telling Baszler that she needed to learn how to work and Baszler responding that if she was shooting that you and I would both know.

Then later, when Cargill blamed others for problems in matches, Baszler came up to her and confronted her. This was not a one person deal but Baszler did go to talk to her about it and that didn’t make it better and she got in Baszler’s face according to one person right there and said Baszler clearly wasn’t going to back down. Other talent saw it and they and management diffused it and got them away from each other and Baszler was called to work with the production people on the key spots they were doing in her television match that night. Nothing else happened of significance after that.

Belair & Cargill faced Bazsler & Stark on the June 3, 2024 episode of WWE Raw going onto a Triple Threat match also featuring The Unholy Union (Alba Fyre & Isla Dawn) later that month at Clash At The Castle.

The June 15, 2024, Clash at the Castle would see Belair and Cargill lose the WWE Women’s Tag Team Championship to The Unholy Union.
