Jade Cargill has revealed that she is ‘thankful for her WWE Night of Champions match and shared her thoughts on her opponent.
The semifinals of the Queen of the Ring tournament recently took place on WWE SmackDown and the following episode of Raw.
With Jade Cargill scoring a win over Roxanne Perez on the June 20 episode of SmackDown, Asuka went on to beat Alexa Bliss on Raw.
The pair will now face each other in the finals at WWE Night of Champions on June 28, with that show set to take place in Saudi Arabia.
Speaking on the Raw Recap, Cargill spoke about the pressure of the upcoming match and how she is handling it, saying:
“Again, I’m not nervous, and I think that more so than anything, when people ask me, they talk about pressure and they talk about nerves. I’m like, no, don’t bring that to me. Don’t, don’t put that on me because I’m fine. I got this. I can breathe. I got this.”
She would then go on to share her admiration of Asuka and what she has achieved, revealing:
“Asuka is phenomenal. She’s a veteran. She can go. She’s had WrestleMania matches upon WrestleMania matches. She’s one of the best female wrestlers in our locker room. She’s proved herself.
“I’m thankful to even be in the ring with her and show people what I’m about to go out there and do. So I’m going to go out there and deliver. I’m going to put on a hell of a match with Asuka and I’m going to come out on top.”
The last time that Cargill and Asuka shared the ring was at WWE Backlash in May 2024.
Cargill & Bianca Belair lost the WWE Women’s Tag Team Championship to The Kabuki Warriors (Asuka & Kairi Sane) at the France Premium Live Event.
The winner of the Queen of the Ring final will go on to a world championship match at WWE SummerSlam on August 3.
