JD McDonagh WWE Return Update After In-Ring Injury WWE

Having suffered an injury on the January 27, 2025 episode of WWE Raw, JD McDonagh is hoping for an imminent return.

The Judgment Day member suffered broken ribs and a punctured lung after teaming with Dominik Mysterio to take on The War Raiders (Erik & Ivar) for the WWE World Tag Team Championship.

Addressing the injury after the match, McDonagh had stated that he was going to be out of action for a couple of months.

During a recent interview on Insight with Chris Van Vliet, McDonagh provided an update on his in-ring return, saying:

“I haven’t taken a bump yet, that’ll be the next step. Get back in the ring, hit the ropes, see if that hurts, take a bump, see if that hurts.”

While McDonagh is yet to resume training for his return, he did state that he hopes to be back “within a month”, explaining:

“If I could be back, I’d be back right now. Hopefully, I’m going to put a time frame on it and say within a month I hope to be back, that’s what I’m working towards.

“So whether that happens or not, whether the WWE docs align, that we’ll see.”

In his absence, Dominik Mysterio has recently been suggesting that Judgment Day could do with another member.

Finn Balor has consistently resisted the suggestion of boosting Judgment Day’s numbers.

The tensions within Judgment Day, however, have previously seen McDonagh react to the situation ahead of his return.
