WWE’s Jinder Mahal Deletes Tweet Aimed At AEW CEO Tony Khan WWE, AEW

After AEW President Tony Khan tweeted a criticism of his booking, WWE star Jinder Mahal fired back; however, that response has been deleted.

The Twitter-sphere provided an uncharacteristically drama-filled Tuesday evening (January 9) when Tony Khan fired back at criticism over the booking of his World Title division in AEW by comparing it to WWE’s own choices on TV.

The bee in Khan’s bonnet was specifically driven by criticism from some fans for setting Hook up as Samoa Joe’s first challenger for the AEW World Championship, despite never sniffing the main event scene prior.

Khan pointed out that Hook boasted a great win-loss record in AEW, therefore the push makes sense; unlike WWE who have granted Jinder Mahal a World Heavyweight Championship shot on next week’s Raw; despite him not winning a match since January 10, 2023.

Khan’s original tweet read as follows:

A double standard:

@730hook 28-1 career record, on winning streak calls out the Champ, a logical challenge sparks online outrage Jinder has literally lost every single match he’s in for the past year, immediately gets title shot, where is the rage

#AEWDynamite TOMORROW on TBS

In an interesting turn of events, Mahal would then hop on Twitter to deliver his first tweet since June 2022, saying:

Who tf is Hook?

WATCH MONDAY NIGHT RAW ON @USANETWORK MONDAY 8PM EST!!!

However, Mahal would seemingly think better of the entire situation shortly thereafter as he deleted the above tweet and has not commented on the situation further.

Khan however, left his original tweet up and would even send a follow-up in response to a tweet from Raw’s TV station the USA Network.

While Mahal removed himself from the drama with the delete of his tweet, another WWE star decided to conjure his own fiery response to Khan’s tweet.
