Former WWE Star ‘Landlocked In The US’ Following Release

Former WWE Star ‘Landlocked In The US’ Following Release WWE

A former WWE star has opened up about a major issue that they have encountered since being released in May 2025.

Joe Coffey was among a number of WWE stars to be released on May 2, alongside his Gallus teammates Mark Coffey and Wolfgang.

During a recent appearance on Muscle Memory, Coffey addressed the visa issues he’s encountered following his release.

Revealing that his ability to work in the United States was tied to his WWE contract, the Scottish star explained:

“Just to cut a long story short, with the release and the contract, our visa goes with that.

“Unfortunately, just now, we have to be landlocked in the US, so it means we can’t work in the US or get back to Europe or Japan or anything.”

Coffey would go on to reveal his frustrations at not being able to work while he remains ‘landlocked’, stating:

“It’s a bit frustrating because I’ve been wrestling for a long, long time, coming up for 16 years now, is what I know.

“I’m just itching to get my boots on, tie the laces up, and just get back to work and get back in the ring. So hopefully it won’t be too long.”

Having debuted in WWE at the United Kingdom Championship Tournament in 2018, Coffey would be a regular fixture in NXT UK before moving to NXT in August 2022.

Gallus would collectively be part of The Rock’s training for his in-ring return at WrestleMania 40, with Shawn Michaels going on to praise the trio.

During the Muscle Memory interview, Coffey would also open up about his disappointment in his NXT run, saying he felt he “didn’t even get to scratch the surface” of what he could do.
