Joe Hendry WWE Future Major Update

Joe Hendry WWE Future Major Update WWE

A big update has emerged on the future of Joe Hendry with WWE and how people in the company are feeling about him.

Hendry had a run in NXT last year – essentially as one of the faces of the WWE/TNA partnership alongside Jordynne Grace – that saw him go as far as challenging Ethan Page for the NXT Championship at the No Mercy PLE.

This year, after winning the TNA World Championship, he returned WWE as a surprise entrant in the Royal Rumble match, and then later re-appeared as Randy Orton’s surprise opponent at WrestleMania 41 when a late replacement for Kevin Owens was needed.

Since that WrestleMania match, Hendry has been appearing regularly on NXT again, and is set to defend his TNA World Title against Trick Williams at the upcoming Battleground PLE.

As far as potential permanent future in WWE for Hendry, here’s the latest word on that.

As reported by PWInsider Elite, it’s “pretty much considered a lock” by many people in WWE that Hendry will end up signing with the company when he is contractually able to do so.

It’s noted that there has been “a lot of great internal feedback” for Hendry from WWE personnel and he received “nothing but praise” for how he stepped into the position of being Orton’s WrestleMania opponent.

He is held “absolutely in high regard” at the moment, and has been the recipient of a lot of praise for how he’s taken feedback and advice, as well as his own creativity.

Triple H did mention in the post-WrestleMania 41 press conference that the event would not be Hendry’s last WrestleMania, so that’s at least an indication of his intentions to work with him more going forward.

His next WWE appearance will be on next week’s NXT for the contract signing for the aforementioned Battleground match against Trick Williams.
