To end tonight’s NXT Heatwave, there was an update on the WWE status of Joe Hendry as something of a cameo appearance drove fans wild online.

There was already a newsworthy conclusion to tonight’s main event, featuring Trick Williams fighting to retain his NXT Championship against Je’Von Evans, Shawn Spears and ‘All Ego’ Ethan Page in a four-way match.

After Trick laid out Evans and then Page, Page fell on top of Evans, pinning his shoulders to the canvas and capturing a pinfall victory as Spears prevented Williams from interfering – meaning Ethan Page is the new NXT Champion.

However as Trick Williams was livid and Page celebrated to end the show, the show’s closing graphic wasn’t truly the last moment.

Instead, a very short clip of Joe Hendry’s viral video would flash briefly before the show truly came to a close. You can see the moment in the video below.

Evidently, this suggests TNA star Hendry will be returning to NXT after his appearance a few weeks ago drew crazy numbers on social media.

Elsewhere on at NXT Heatwave every other title that was on the line was retained by the current champion.

Kelani Jordan took out Sol Ruca to retain her Women’s North American Championship, and Oba Femi defeated Wes Lee to retain his NXT North American Title.

Also, tag champs Axiom and Nathan Frazer beat Chase U, and Roxanne Perez held on to her WWE NXT Women’s Championship over Lola Vice.
