Former WWE Name Reveals Reason Behind WrestleMania 39 Match Position WWE

WrestleMania 39 takes place on April 1 & 2, with the main event of night 2 and the opening match of night 1 locked in.

With Austin Theory vs John Cena opening night one of the two-night event, Dutch Mantel (the former Zeb Colter) addressed the match positioning on the mammoth card.

Speaking to Sportskeeda, Mantel would say:

“Great way to open that show. It’s a great way because the people will see Cena and they’ll come up.

“Your first match is almost as important as your main event because your first match has to get them in the mood.

“You put on a stinking first match, your second match has a hard time, then your third match, then as it gets a little hotter going up heat wise, people aren’t used to screaming and yelling and that first match needs to get them off their asses and get them  get the into the flow.

“I think that’s a great way to open the card.”

With the rumored main event for the first night of WrestleMania 39 being Charlotte Flair vs Rhea Ripley, Mantel would express his dislike of the idea, with the co-hosts noting that the match is being built as a “star versus non-star” as the main event of the evening.

Night 2 will, of course, see Roman Reigns defend the Undisputed WWE Universal Championship against Cody Rhodes.

The Usos are also set to defend the Undisputed WWE Tag Team Championships against Sami Zayn & Kevin Owens.
