A former WWE Champion has addressed John Cena using his finishing move on a Premium Live Event earlier this year.
John Cena has only three dates left of his retirement year, with his next PLE appearance being WWE Survivor Series WarGames on November 29.
The current WWE Intercontinental Champion, Cena has competed on Premium Live Events throughout 2025, including Clash in Paris back in August.
That event saw Cena hit Baron Corbin’s End of Days on his opponent, Logan Paul, only to have the star kick out at two.
In a recent interview with So Cal Val, the star now known as Bishop Dyer reflected on seeing Cena hit a move more closely associated with his time in the WWE, saying:
“It was funny because I wasn’t watching the show in real time. I was playing with my kids on the couch or something and I looked at my phone and saw ninety-seven Twitter notifications.
“I was like ‘what did I do? What got out? Did someone find a picture of me running around crazy or something?’
“So, I opened it, and it’s flooded with Cena hitting Logan Paul with the End of Days.
“And, then, I was like… because obviously he didn’t tell me. I think that’s what makes John special. He’s not gonna be like ‘hey, you should watch this show’. He just does it, and, if you’re paying attention, you’ll know it’s for you.
“And, the coolest thing was that he went on Raw, or whatever, the after talk show and he was like “you know, I’m not going to get an opportunity to step in with everybody I want to who has played a part in my career or that I have shared experiences with that I respect” and what not. “So, that’s my way of doing it.”
“So, it was like a cool tip of the cap from him to me for what we’ve done together and how much he’s helped me in my career because I would have to hit 500 AAs to give him the respect that he has bestowed on me career-wise, the knowledge and also friendship.”

Shortly after footage of Cena hitting the End of Days was shared on Twitter, the real-life Tom Pestock commented that it was “pretty awesome” to witness in a tweet, posting:
“I have to admit seeing @JohnCena hit the EOD is pretty awesome! Especially in Paris!!!”
With The Last Time Is Now Tournament currently underway to determine Cena’s final opponent, the former Baron Corbin has shared his interest in being involved.
