Award-Winning Actor Answers WWE Champion’s Challenge

An award-winning actor has answered John Cena’s challenge to meet him in a WWE ring ahead of their upcoming action comedy movie.

Idris Elba stars alongside John Cena in the upcoming movie Heads of State, which is set for release on July 2.

Cena plays the President of the United States while Elba is the Prime Minister of the United Kingdom as they come together to tackle a global conspiracy.

During a recent red carpet interview for Heads of State, Elba received a message from Cena courtesy of Extra TV interviewer Mona Kosar Abdi.

Cena had apparently told the interviewer to tell Elba to meet him in the ring, with the award-winning star going to answer the challenge, saying:

“Oh come on, John, you know, you’ve already told the world that it’s over for you, retirement.

“You are a wrestler that became an actor. I am an actor who’s about to dominate wrestling.”

Elba’s acting career has seen him cover a multitude of genres on television and in movies, winning a Golden Globe in 2011 for his lead role in the hard-hitting crime thriller series Luther.

He recently provided the voice for Knuckles in Sonic The Hedgehog 3 and the eponymously titled animated television series.

In a recent interview, John Cena revealed the answer to whether he loves WWE or acting more.
