A WWE star has addressed his direct connection to both CM Punk and John Cena’s pipebomb promos, opening up about these moments.
To this day, fans still fondly talk about CM Punk’s pipe-bomb promo, which saw him blur the lines between work and shoot after distracting John Cena long enough for R-Truth to win their Tables Match on the June 27, 2011 edition of Raw.
John Cena replicated this pipe-bomb promo on the June 20, 2025 edition of SmackDown, ahead of his and Punk’s match at Night of Champions.
John Cena’s pipe-bomb promo came after Cena’s match against R-Truth, which ended via DQ after Cena struck Truth with the WWE Championship title.
During an interview with the New York Post, it was pointed out to R-Truth that he was involved in the matches which directly led to both pipe-bomb promos.
Addressing this, R-Truth said:
“I’ve never thought about that, wow. I like that, I am a part of that, I’m connected, still.
“Creativity, I feel like I have to recreate that, I have to keep that going, I have to embrace it. It warms my heart.”
During this interview, R-Truth also revealed the real reason he dropped the “Ron Killings” WWE character.
