WWE Star Says John Cena Didn’t Believe Big Spot At Money In The Bank Would Work WWE

A WWE star has revealed that John Cena didn’t believe he’d be able to hit a major move at Money in the Bank.

The June 7 Premium Live Event saw Cena team with Logan Paul, in a losing effort against Cody Rhodes and Jey Uso.

Towards the end of the match, Paul took Jey Uso out with an insane Lionsault, using the middle rope to jump and land on Jey, who was on the announcer’s table in the ringside area.

Speaking on his Impaulsive podcast, Logan Paul revealed that he was inspired to do this move after hitting a regular Lionsault on AJ Styles at WrestleMania 41, noting:

“That particular move is called the Lionsault. I did it to AJ Styles at WrestleMania and there’s one angle where you see me fly 90% across the ring, like way further than I thought I could. So I looked at that and went ‘Dude, I could do this to the outside, I could do this on the f**king table.’

“So we measured the distance from the table, it’s 10 feet, which is far. I was practicing it in Puerto Rico and I was landing it pretty consistently.

Paul then recalled John Cena being skeptical that he could make the jump ahead of their bout, recalling:

“It’s before the match and I’m telling John Cena, I was like ‘Hey, I’d like to fit this spot in there, right?’ He looks at me and goes ‘You can’t make that jump.’ I go ‘I swear to God, I can.’

“John’s the best, but in full sincerity, he goes ‘You can’t make that jump.’ I found out no one believed I could make that jump.

“I’m sure it’s been done before, but it was well executed and I’m f**king alive, but it was a really hard landing, really hard. I have this ability to turn the fear switch off… When I landed, straight up, I was not sure if I broke both my f**king shins.”

R-Truth – now Ron Killings – notably interfered in the closing moments of this match, allowing Cody Rhodes to capitalise and pin John Cena.

Logan Paul has now noted that he had no idea that Ron Killings was set to return during this match.
