John Cena’s in-ring career has come to an end, with a WWE name now revealing an unplanned moment from Saturday Night’s Main Event.
The December 13 special saw John Cena leave with a loss to GUNTHER, bringing an end to his career.
Members of the WWE roster came out, post match, to celebrate Cena’s legacy, with CM Punk and Cody Rhodes joining their contemporary in the ring.
Moments after Cena departed the ring, Jackie Redmond caught up with an emotional WWE Champion Cody Rhodes to capture his thoughts during the Saturday Night’s Main Event post-show.
A fan noted the quality of the interview, suggesting that Redmond had an “Emmy-winning” moment.
The WWE name responded to this post, revealing that it was an unplanned interaction, stating:
“Hand to god, it really was not planned. Cody was having a moment and was gracious enough to share it with us. Class act.”
In the wake of Cena’s retirement, stars from across the wrestling scene would share their respect for the record-breaking world champion.
