John Cena WrestleMania 39 Opponent Confirmed

On tonight’s return of John Cena to WWE Raw, Austin Theory interrupted him to issue a challenge for WrestleMania 39.

John Cena fairly promptly replied “No,” and went on to give Austin Theory a scathing review.

Calling him amongst other things, a “generic kid out here in fancy sneakers, wearing sunglasses indoors,” Cena held little back in his critique of Austin Theory.

Calling himself the “ghost of Christmas future,” Cena described that Theory was seemingly in his ‘Ruthless Aggression’ period where his existence rings hollow to fans.

Cena told Theory that despite Theory having been given opportunity after opportunity, Theory clearly still doesn’t believe in himself and thusly the fans don’t believe in him.

After further goading by the United States Champion (including a dig about Cena’s bald spot) Cena put the WrestleMania 39 potential match in the hands of the Boston crowd.

Telling Theory, “Remember this moment: You just made the biggest mistake of your life,” before confirming that it would be John Cena versus Austin Theory for the United States Championship at WrestleMania 39.
