Former WWE Star Reveals How Long A Writer Lasted After Saying What’s Wrong WWE

A former WWE star has revealed how long a writer lasted after being hired when they pointed out what was wrong with storytelling.

John Morrison made the revelation about the writer – a friend – on the Undisputed Podcast while speaking to Bobby Fish.

The writer was hired and then fired mere weeks later, with Morrison saying:

“There’s a buddy of mine, ended up getting hired as a writer and he kept pointing out to me all the things that were wrong with the storytelling and how WWE was run.

I told him for a couple of months, ‘Everyone is aware. All the other writers know this and Vince and the whole office, they know this. I promise you, if you say all these things, you’re gonna last less than a month.’”

The warning would come true, with Morrison going on to say:

“Guess how long he lasted? Three weeks. So he moved to Connecticut and he’s a smart guy and a good writer. He wrote movies and TV.

“It’s just like what we’re talking about. We see the problems and then you have the choice. You can’t just speak up because that doesn’t solve or fix or change anything. They just fire you.”

Morrison has had two runs in WWE to date, starting in 2002 as a member of Tough Enough III and signing a developmental contract as co-winner with Matt Cappotelli.

He would remain with WWE until November 2011 when he would choose not to sign a new deal and would then become a presence on the independent scene before heading to IMPACT Wrestling in 2017.

In 2019, he would part ways with IMPACT Wrestling, returning to WWE in September of that year and staying with the company until 021.

He would return to the independent scene, making appearances for AEW in 2022 before returning to MLW in January 2023.

Morrison has recently discussed being open to the possibility of a return to WWE.
