Former WWE Star Opens Up About Wrestling Future WWE

A former WWE star has opened up about their future in the wrestling business after nearly four years away from the ring.

Former WWE Divas Champion Kaitlyn last wrestled for GWA in December 2019 and made her last WWE appearance in the 2018 Mae Young Classic.

She signed a WWE developmental contract in 2010, starting out in Florida Championship Wrestling before making her WWE debut as part of season three of NXT.

She would feud with her on-screen mentor Vickie Guerrero appearing on both NXT and SmackDown going on to form The Chickbusters with AJ Lee.

Various feuds would see her eventually get an opportunity at the Divas Championship in 2012, chasing the title until she defeated Eve at the 20th Anniversary episode of WWE Raw in January 2013.

She would lose the belt to AJ Lee at Payback in 2013 continuing to feud with her until January 2014 when she would announce that she had terminated her contract with WWE.

Footage from AJ Lee and Kaitlyn’s brawl before WWE Payback featuring Big E can be seen below this news story.

She hasn’t wrestled since December 2019 but recently spoke about the possibility of an in-ring return on Muscle Memory, saying:

“I think with anything I am not 100% so against coming back like, ‘Oh, I’m retired and that’s it.

“I’m always open to cool opportunities, cool collaborations, it’s not really in my sight right now to pursue wrestling, but after so many years of being removed from it I certainly have a different appreciation for it.”

Discussing her appreciation further, Kaitlyn went on to say:

“I feel like I understand it on such a deeper level and for truly such an art form that it is.

“I’ll never say I’m retired and I’ll never get in a ring again, but it’s not anything that I am actively trying to make happen.”

Although Kaitlyn had previously said that she is retired from WWE with plans to walk away from wrestling to focus on her marriage and clothing line, she did wrestle for the company again in 2018 and also took a number of independent bookings.
