A former WWE name has pitched a potential role that would see them make a return to the company, having left a year ago.
Backstage interviewer Kayla Braxton parted ways with WWE in June last year after almost eight years with the company.
Having recently revealed plans to return to live broadcasting, the real-life Kayla Becker’s interests were piqued by a recent WWE trademark application.
On June 20, WWE filed a trademark application with the USPTO for the term “WWE Late Night“, suggesting a potential entry into the popular entertainment show format.
Responding to the possibility of a WWE-themed late night entertainment show, Becker showed her interest, tweeting:
“NGL – hosting a late-night show for WWE was all I ever wanted.
“I said I was done with wrestling, but I’d come back to host this 👀”
At the time of writing, it isn’t clear how or when WWE would use this trademark application, although the paperwork covers the “hosting and producing live comedic performances” description.
A backstage interviewer in her time with the company, the former Kayla Braxton has revealed that she turned down a commentary role on a number of occasions.
Alongside her backstage interviewer duties, Braxton was a ring announcer on NXT and co-hosted both SmackDown LowDown and The Bump.
