On the New Year’s Day episode of Friday Night SmackDown last week, former Tough Enough star Sonya Deville made her first appearance on WWE TV since the SummerSlam pay-per-view event in August.
Deville lost a “Loser Leaves WWE” match to former best friend and tag team partner Mandy Rose at the pay-per-view over the Summer, and wasn’t seen on any WWE show for the remainder of 2020.

While she may have just returned in a backstage segment, it seems like WWE did a lot to keep her return a secret, as reports have indicated that very few people knew Deville would be returning during last week’s show.
Ringside News, who have been on the money with backstage scoops in recent months, is reporting that WWE kept Sonya Deville’s return plans “under wraps”:
Ringside News has learned that Sonya Deville’s return to television was “kept under wraps” Not a lot of people knew about it, but Sonya Deville’s return was official.
At this time, the plans that WWE has for Sonya Deville are unclear. However, some people have speculated that she is going to win this month’s women’s Royal Rumble match and progress to a title match at WrestleMania.
