The viewership figures for the King of the Ring countdown special, aired by local FOX network affiliates over the weekend, has been revealed.
As per Brandon Thurston of Wrestlenomics, the special drew 1.691 million viewers. In the key 18-49 demographic, the special received a 0.43 rating, equal to 563,000 viewers in the demo.
This is an extremely impressive number for the special. For comparison, Monday’s (October 4) edition of Raw drew an average of 1.856 million viewers, with a 0.52 rating (680,000 viewers) in the 18-49 demo.
Thurston also noted that the show drew 214,000 viewers aged 18 to 34, more than either Raw or AEW Dynamite from the previous week.
The King of the Ring tournament will return on Friday’s (October 8) addition of SmackDown. A new women’s ‘Queen’s Crown’ tournament will also commence on the show.
