New details regarding the 2025 WWE King & Queen of the Ring tournaments were confirmed during tonight’s June 6 episode of SmackDown.
After Money in the Bank tomorrow night, the next WWE PLE coming up is Night of Champions in Saudi Arabia on June 28.
On tonight’s SmackDown, a video played with Raw General Manager Adam Pearce and SmackDown GM Nick Aldis making a joint announcement regarding this year’s King & Queen of the Ring tournaments.
The tournaments will kick off next week at the quarter-final round, which will consist of four four-way matches – two each from Raw and SmackDown – with the four winners advancing to the semi-finals.
The brackets are set up in a way that means all semi-finals will be Raw vs SmackDown.
The tournament finals take place at the aforementioned WWE Night of Champions PLE on June 28.
As with last year, the eventual tournament winners will both challenge for their brand’s top championship at WWE SummerSlam on August 2 or 3.
Last year’s tournaments were won by GUNTHER and Nia Jax, who both went on to win their title matches at SummerSlam.
The only names that seem to be confirmed for this year’s tournaments as of this writing are Jade Cargill and Charlotte Flair in the Queen of the Ring tournament, who had a backstage confrontation after the announcement video.
