WWE Announces Kofi Kingston Injury Following SmackDown

WWE has announced that Kofi Kingston suffered an injury during the November 5 edition of SmackDown.

On the episode, Universal Champion Roman Reigns, Jimmy & Jey Uso attacked King Woods & Kofi Kingston after The New Day defeated The Usos in a tag-team match. Refusing to take a knee to Woods, The Bloodline targeted Kingston’s leg, forcing the King of the Ring winner to watch.

WWE has now revealed that Kingston has been diagnosed with an MCL sprain in his knee. It appears to be a storyline injury, ahead of Friday’s show.

The announcement was made on Twitter:

On the upcoming edition of SmackDown, Woods will go one-on-one with Roman Reigns. The Tribal Chief last defended his Universal Title at WWE Crown Jewel against Brock Lesnar.
