Timing issues involving LA Knight reportedly let to legitimate frustration at the 2025 WWE Royal Rumble premium live event.
As reported after the show, Drew McIntyre was angry backstage after something had gone wrong with his elimination from the men’s WWE Royal Rumble match.
It then emerged that there seemed to be one specific person McIntyre was frustrated about for allegedly prioritizing “getting his moves in” and “trying to get himself over” at the expense of some of the other stories that were supposed to be told.
Then, further reporting emerged that there were several other stars in the match who shared the same opinion as McIntyre about that specific person.
In a new update reported by PWInsider Elite, the source of the frustration appears to have been timing issues involving LA Knight.
The elimination of McIntyre by Damian Priest was originally planned to happen before Logan Paul had come to the ring as the #30 entrant.
However, according to the report, there were “several sequences” involving Knight that went longer than planned, which delayed the elimination of McIntyre.
Those timing issues meant Paul came out and entered the match before McIntyre was eliminated, so that order of events was completely thrown off, because McIntyre should have been out before Paul came in.
When Paul got to the ring, he went straight into his planned spots, which included one with LA Knight.
Paul and Knight being in the middle of the ring for that spot essentially got in the way of Priest eliminating McIntyre, as they bumped into Paul and Knight on their way across the ring. You can see a clip of that moment below.
The Priest elimination of McIntyre was supposedly set to kick off a WWE WrestleMania 41 feud between the two, so it should have come across as a bigger deal than it did, because the Knight and Paul interaction ended up distracting from it.
