WWE
With a WWE debut earlier this year, a current women’s champion has reacted to her first victory, which was recently aired.
Laynie Luck is the WWE ID Women’s Champion, winning the title in November of last year and defending it regularly on the independent wrestling scene.
With three appearances on WWE Evolve to her name, Luck faced Zena Sterling on the March 18 episode streamed on Tubi in the United States and internationally on YouTube.
The recent episode marked the first time Luck has been victorious in her time on WWE Evolve, having seen losses to PJ Vasa and Karmen Petrovic previously.
Reacting to her first win on WWE programming, Luck would take to Twitter, posting:
“MY FIRST DUB ON EVOLVE!!!! WE MAKIN MOVES!!!!”
Lane now heads to Women’s Wrestling Revolution Plus to defend her championship against Allie Katch, with that match seeing a potential WWE ID contract and championship for the currently unsigned star.
While Luck was victorious in her match, Jackson Drake wasn’t as fortunate, with Aaron Rourke becoming the new WWE Evolve Champion.
Evolve continues to be pre-taped, with the match recorded on February 20 the WWE Performance Cnter in Orlando, Floriday.
The WWE ID Championship Legacy
Introduced by Triple H alongside its men’s roster counterpart in February of last year, the WWE ID Women’s Championship was first held by Kylie Rae later that year.
The inaugural championship, Rae was forced to vacate the championship in September 2025, with the new champion being determined in a Six-Way Elimination Match back in November at Wrestling Open, with that winner also securing a WWE ID contract.
Laynie Luck would become the second-ever WWE ID Women’s Championship as a result of that match, defeating Airica Demia, Brittnie Brooks, Notorious Mimi, Tiara James, and Shannon LeVangie
Since becoming champion, Luck has defended the title multiple times on the independent wrestling scene, with her most recent live match being on March 1 with a victory over Zoe Sager at A1 Buck Wild.
The WWE ID Championship has been held by Cappuccino Jones since GCW ID Showcase in August of last year, with the star holding the title for more than 220 days to date.
WWE ID Is Another Pathway to Superstardom
Having been announced in October 2024, WWE ID sits alongside the Next In Line (NIL) program and the regular Tryouts as a method to bring new talent into the company.
Working alongside partner training schools, including those owned by the likes of Seth Rollins and Booker T, WWE ID focuses on independent wrestling stars, whereas NIL targets elite college athletes from other sporting fields.
Through WWE ID, a number of prospects have featured on episodes of Evolve and NXT, while continuing to perform on the independent wrestling scene.
