WWE Legend Hoping To Return In New On-Screen Role

WWE Legend Hoping To Return In New On-Screen Role WWE

A WWE legend has opened up about hoping that his last appearances weren’t his ‘last memory of wrestling’ as an on-screen character.

Despite having popped up around the professional wrestling world lately in ominous fashion, JBL has not been seen on WWE television since helping to announce the WWE 2024 Draft picks.

But it seems that he has some regrets about his last full on-screen run with Baron Corbin in WWE, noting that he hopes it wasn’t his last.

In a new chat with Huge Pop, John Bradshaw Layfield shared that he would not be satisfied with his last on-screen role having been his recent time with Corbin.

JBL said:

“I hope to do something. You mentioned Baron Corbin, and I feel bad because if you’re going to blame somebody, blame me. I’m the old guy.

“I don’t want that to be my last memory from wrestling. If my last memory was Rey Mysterio and 23 seconds, that’s how I wanted to go out. The Von Erichs were going into the Hall of Fame, it was in Texas. It was a perfect swan song.

“Then, I came back and it didn’t work. I don’t want that to be the last. I don’t know what I’m going to do. I have some ideas, but hopefully that won’t be the swan song.”

JBL has had some minor interactions since the run with Corbin, including with Josh Briggs in NXT, who JBL implored to ‘find himself’ after his split from tag partner Brooks Jensen and Fallon Henley.

He’s recently made appearances in TNA, MLW and more, which his deal with WWE allows him to do.
