A WWE legend has praised Fallon Henley following her championship win on last night’s episode of NXT on the CW Network.
Last night’s NXT was part two of Gold Rush, and was taped at The Theater at Madison Square Garden a week prior, immediately after part one aired live.
The show saw Fallon Henley become the new WWE Speed Women’s Champion by defeating Zaria in their match to determine the new champion after the title was vacated by Sol Ruca due to injury.
Henley defeated Skylar Raye to earn the title shot and then beat Zaria last night.
Reacting to Henley’s win, WWE legend Leilani Kai congratulated her on social media, writing:
Congratulations @FallonHenleyWWE You deserve everything you get. #champ
Kai, who was part of the first ever WrestleMania as well as being a former WWF Women’s and Tag Team Champion, has been back in the fold with WWE this past year or so, attending shows including Saturday Night’s Main Event.
She has openly said she has a particular fondness for the women of NXT and goes to see them at live events as much as she can, and has commented that she hopes to become a trainer.
The Speed Women’s Title win for Henley is her third in WWE NXT, having previously held the NXT Women’s Tag Team Championship with Kiana James and the NXT Women’s North American Championship.
Another women’s title change on NXT last night saw Lei Ying Lee win the TNA Knockouts World Championship from Kelani Jordan in a three-way match that also featured Jordynne Grace.
