WWE Legend Returns To Raw, Crazy Bobby Lashley Storyline, Triple H Contracts Covid-19 – News Bulletin – October 18, 2022 WWE

A WWE legend makes their return to WWE Raw, Bobby Lashley opens up about a crazy storyline he pitched, Triple H has Covid-19, and more.

Don’t have time to watch a three-hour Raw? Can’t keep up with the constant backstage wrestling drama? We’ve got you covered, in the WrestleTalk news bulletin for Thursday, October 18, 2022.

JBL Returns To WWE Raw

Wrestling God and former Acolyte JBL made his return to WWE Raw last night (October 17), with new protégé Happy Corbin in tow.

Corbin hasn’t appeared on WWE television for several weeks, after he disappeared in a mysterious limo – complete with bull horns on the hood – which fans quickly assumed belonged to JBL.

WWE Legend JBL

WWE legend JBL returned to Raw to manage Baron Corbin on October 17, 2022.

The same mysterious limo appeared on last night’s episode, after which JBL emerged and addressed the live audience, telling them that he was there to “shake the very foundation of Monday Night Raw.”

He then introduced Corbin as “Mr Baron Corbin,” in another gimmick change for the former Lone Wolf.

JBL put Corbin over as “the modern day Wrestling God,” and also took some shots at Corbin’s upcoming opponent Dolph Ziggler.

Bobby Lashley Reveals Crazy Proposed Storyline

Bobby Lashley has opened up about a very strange storyline he once pitched to Vince McMahon.

Speaking with the NotSam Wrestling podcast, Bobby Lashley described the storyline as he saw it:

“I told Vince a year ago, I think a year or two ago, I told him, ‘I want to do this character.’ He said, ‘What is it?’ I said, ‘If I get beat one time, I want to go into this severe depression and put on like 40, 50, 60, or 70 pounds and just be fat and be a completely different character and then have like somebody like an MVP, or somebody that’s on my side, kind of like, pull me back and then have the crowd watch this transition back to me.’ And he said, ‘There’s no way you can do that.’ I said, ‘Man, I think I can do it.’”

For a man who was once involved in a months-long cuckolding angle with Rusev and Lana, the storyline would certainly have been an…improvement? I guess?

Bobby Lashley

Former WWE Champion Bobby Lashley wanted to do a depression storyline.

Unfortunately we’ll never know, as Lashley is now instead involved in a feud with Brock Lesnar, which will lead to a match between the two at the upcoming Crown Jewel premium live event on November 5.

I think we can all agree, that’s a huge step down for the Almighty.

Triple H Misses WWE Raw Due To Covid

Paul ‘Triple H’ Levesque missed last evening’s episode of WWE Raw due to a case of Covid-19, according to PWInsider.

Levesque was said to be in good spirits and feeling well, but will be away from any in-person WWE responsibilities until he has cleared the company’s COVID-19 protocol.

Triple H

WWE Head of Creative Triple H.

The report also notes that Triple H has been in contact with the company’s producers and writers, and felt good about the creative and team heading into the show, which was the first to take place without him since he took over his new roles.

We here at WrestleTalk wish Levesque a speedy recovery.

In Other News…

A major championship re-match will take place on next Monday’s (October 24) edition of WWE Raw, as Bianca Belair will defend her WWE Raw Women’s Championship against Bayley.

The two previously faced off at WWE Extreme Rules, where Belair defeated Bayley in a ladder match to retain the gold.

With NXT going head to head against AEW Dynamite this evening, WWE is sending a couple of main roster big guns to help out on the junior brand.

Several big matches are set for NXT Halloween Havoc on October 24.

That isn’t the only way WWE is preparing to clash with AEW, as WWE Raw spent yesterday evening heavily promoting tonight’s show.

WWE NXT is going up against a stacked lineup for the special Tuesday night edition of AEW Dynamite, headlined by Jon Moxley vs. Hangman Page for the AEW World Championship.

WWE Crown Jewel is setting up to be an exciting show, as Judgment Day will face The OC in a trios match at the event. The match joins the previously-announced bout between Lashley and Lesnar, as well as the clash between Logan Paul and Roman Reigns, for what promises to be a stacked card.
