WWE Legend ‘Wasn’t Happy At All’ About Vince McMahon Retiring WWE

Vince McMahon announced his retirement from WWE on Friday, July 23, and we have really only seen a tiny part of what that really means for the wrestling business.

While some have rejoiced at the news, many are dismayed by the thought of a post-Vince era of WWE, with one of those people being WWE legend Ric Flair.

Speaking to Chris Van Vliet in the lead up to his final ever match this weekend, Flair admitted he was very sad to see Vince’s announcement.

He said:

“I wasn’t happy about it at all. I love Vince McMahon. I don’t know what he is doing right now but I feel like he’ll have a hard time. He’ll adjust, obviously, but he loved the business, but he made us all who we are from Hulk [Hogan] to everybody. I don’t care what everybody thinks, he made us. I have nothing but respect for him.”

Flair was also asked whether he thinks Vince will step down from the board, given that he is still the majority shareholder.

“I know. He’s a majority stockholder. I don’t know whether he will or not. I hope not. He’s a genius.”

Ric Flair will tag with Andrade El Idolo to face Jeff Jarrett and Jay Lethal this weekend at Starrcast V on July 31, the day after WWE SummerSlam.
