A former WWE Women’s Champion has shot down rumors about her signing a new Legends deal with the company.
Between Jesse Ventura, Hornswoggle and Diamond Dallas Page, a number of wrestling veterans have recently confirmed that they’ve signed new WWE Legends contracts.
There has been some uncertainty surrounding Melina’s status with WWE, following her disputing a report about signing a deal with the company in 2020, before appearing in the 2022 Royal Rumble match.
Speaking with MuscleManMalcolm, Melina confirmed that she is NOT currently signed to a WWE contract, noting:
“Don’t believe everything that’s on the Internet, unless you hear it from somebody’s mouth. So many, still to this day, a lot of rumors always going around about me. Still not true. Still not true.”
Noting that she’s not interested in signing a Legends deal, she explained:
“It just all depends on what they take away from your life. Of course, there will be more money and this and that. But it’s not about the money for me.
“It’s about being able to be free to do what I want with what I was blessed with in wrestling.”
Melina hasn’t wrestled since September 2022.
