Former WWE Star Open To Potential Return

Former WWE Star Open To Potential Return WWE

A former WWE star has opened up about a potential return to the company that released him from his contract in April 2020.

Lio Rush was signed to WWE in 2017 and had a tumultuous time in the company before eventually being released as part of the COVID-19 cost-cutting measures.

He would return to the independent scene as well as having a run in AEW, recently revealing that he has had contact with Tony Khan since leaving the company.

Speaking to Chris Van Vliet on Insight, Rush discussed the possibility of a WWE return, saying:

“I think that it potentially could lead me back to WWE. I think at a certain point it would ultimately be up to whether I want to go that route again or not.

“I realize that nothing is forever, so being presented certain opportunities, I truly want to make the most out of them.

“I want to do my absolute best to make sure there’s no wasted time, no wasted movements, no wasted effort.

“Every little thing that I do needs to be a building block to a bigger legacy or to continue to do the things I want or creating opportunities for my kids to do the things they want.

“So spending another three, five, ten years in WWE to build something bigger than me, then I’ll take that.”

In the interview, Rush would use Drew McIntyre and Cody Rhodes as examples of stars who had left WWE, reinvented themselves and come back to the company as bigger assets than they were originally.
