WWE Hall of Famer Lita has revealed she would want to face IYO SKY if she were to be offered one more match.

Now separated from Rhea Ripley thanks to her Rhiyo partner winning the WWE Women’s Championship at WrestleMania 42, IYO SKY remains on Raw, while Ripley heads to SmackDown.

Plans for IYO SKY’s future are yet to be revealed, although Lita has named her as the star who she’d like to face if she were to have one more match, while speaking with Sirius XM Sports.

When asked who in WWE would make her want to have one more match, Lita responded:

“Okay, if I just get one, I’m going with IYO SKY.”

Lita last returned to WWE in 2023, becoming one-half of the Women’s Tag Team Champions alongside Becky Lynch, defeating Damage CTRL (IYO SKY & Dakota Kai), before the pair went on to team with Trish Stratus at WrestleMania 38 to take down Bayley, Kai & SKY.

A four-time WWE Women’s Champion, Lita would also announce the qualifiers for the Iron Survivor Challenge at NXT Deadline in November 2023.

SKY was recently named as a dream opponent by Sol Ruca, with Randy Orton and Je’Von Evans also being named in her list.

Old School Becomes New School

AJ Lee, Paige, The Bella Twins – Four past stars, all ready to go in the current landscape of WWE, with the fans being broadly positive to the reappearance of old school stars in the modern day product.

It’s not a recent phenomenon, obviously, with stars of old often stepping back into the ring, be it as a one off appearance in the women’s Royal Rumble match or for a longer period.

With the success of Trish Stratus during her last run, and no indication that the Hall of Famer has hung up her boots for good. Stratus has clearly been keeping an eye on the WWE product, previously sending a message to Maxxine Dupri on becoming Women’s Intercontinental Champion.

By contrast, it isn’t unusual for newer stars to name one of their contemporaries as an inspiration and share their hopes for a dream match somewhere down the line.

Lita, while she may not have competed since WrestleMania 39, has been referenced by IYO SKY in previous comments, which also saw a call for AJ Lee to make a return, a feat that has since happened.

IYO SKY and Lita clearly want the match to happen, and it’s entirely possible it could, one day, perhaps if WWE Evolution, the all-women’s PLE, were to take place once more.
