WWE Locker Room Buzzing Over Gable Steveson Signing

WWE Champion Big E has opened up about the buzz in the locker room regarding Gable Steveson joining the WWE roster.

Steveson won a gold medal in amateur wrestling (125kg) at the Olympics a few months ago, after which he signed a WWE contract while still in university.

It’s been said that WWE will be setting up a training facility specifically for Steveson so he can train until he graduates, but he was already drafted to the Raw roster last month.

Speaking with Planeta Wrestling, E said:

“Seeing what he did at the Olympics, watching his Olympic Gold medal match, just incredible. We were all talking about it in the locker room, so the fact that he’s here in WWE, obviously he needs some time to train and get ready. But when the time is right, if he earns that shot and he’s ready for it, then I’m all for it. I am a big fan of all the stuff that he’s done, he’s just a mind-blowingly good athlete. The fact that he’s still in college, like, he can still win another National Championship. It’s kind of crazy. But yeah, salute to him, and I am excited to see what he does in the WWE.”

There’s no word on when Steveson will make his official WWE debut, but one of the most speculated matches for him is against his mentor Brock Lesnar as a ‘passing of the torch’.

Bobby Steveson, Gable’s brother, is currently in NXT and just received a new name, which is Damon Kemp.
