Shayna Baszler Teases WWE NXT Return

Shayna Baszler Teases WWE NXT Return WWE

Since the turn of the new year, NXT has seen many current main roster stars make their return to the developmental show to help teach some of the upcoming talent.

Names such as AJ Styles, Dolph Ziggler, Robert Roode, Natalya, the Viking Raiders and Apollo Crews have headed down to the Performance Center to work programmes, or in Apollo’s case have second runs in NXT.

On last week’s show, the first since the rebranding from NXT 2.0, SmackDown’s Butch and Ridge Holland of the Brawling Brutes appeared on the show, losing to Pretty Deadly in an NXT Tag Team Championship match thanks to interference from Imperium.

Also on the show, the ongoing conflict between Cora Jade and Roxanne Perez continued, when the pair appeared on the Grayson Waller Effect talk show. Waller announced on the show that the two women will face off in a Weapons Wild match at Halloween Havoc, before then announcing that the two would take part in ‘pick your poison’ matches in the coming weeks.

Neither Roxanne or Cora have announced their chosen ‘poison’ yet, and one fan pointed Cora in the direction of former NXT Women’s Champion Shayna Baszler, who dominated the NXT women’s division from 2018 until 2020.

Cora responded to the fan, enquiring about Shayna’s availability, asking:

Hi @QoSBaszler do you wanna talk business

Shayna responded to Cora, seemingly imply that she would be free to step in as the chosen opponent of Roxanne Perez. She said:

I do have some open freelance spots on my calendar coming up…

Shayna Baszler was called up to the WWE main roster back in February 2020. She returned to NXT alongside Nia Jax for a WWE Women’s Tag Team Championship defence against Dakota Kai and Raquel Gonzalez last year.
