PWInsider are reporting that NXT Star and wife of Johnny Gargano Candice LeRae could soon be appearing at SmackDown Live house shows in preparation for a main roster call-up.
Although working live events isn’t an official call-up, as it’s something WWE have done before with the likes of Nikki Cross, it’s a definite sign that they are high on someone that they’re willing to throw them in with the “big boys”.
LeRae is one of the more experienced members of the NXT Women’s roster, having wrestled on the independent circuit for several years.
She appeared in this year’s Women’s Royal Rumble match, where she lasted 10 minutes before being eliminated by Ruby Riott.
Whether this is to build up a WWE debut following WrestleMania or as a way of also bringing up Johnny Gargano isn’t clear, but it will be good to see some new faces on a brand riding on the coat tails of Becky Lynch and Charlotte Flair in recent months.
