WWE Acknowledges Match Previously Recorded After Wrestler Injury WWE

A rare move but perhaps another signal of the new era in WWE tonight as a match being previously recorded was directly acknowledged.

On NXT Level Up, Kale Dixon was set for a match against Tank Ledger, but ahead of the match, a replay of a segment from WWE Raw was aired.

Footage from the match featuring Bron Breakker taking on Kale Dixon was shown and it was acknowledged that Dixon had a bad night on the main roster.

The replays highlighted Dixon not only getting beaten in the match but also further annihilated in a post-match angle that saw him get struck with a steel chair by Breakker.

Dixon left on a stretcher to end his appearance on WWE Raw which was acknowledged by commentary on NXT Level Up.

The commentary team wished Dixon all the best before his entrance for the Level Up match, which featured a graphic on-screen specifically noting that the match was previously recorded.

All NXT Level Up matches are pre-taped, but it’s not usually acknowledged directly like it was here.

In the end, Ledger would pick up the victory and go on to have a celebration with his tag team partner Hank Walker in the ring to close the show.
