WWE Name Calls Former Teammate A Megastar

A former teammate has named a current WWE champion a ‘megastar’, having witnessed their growth over the past few years.

Although a familiar face to many WWE fans, it wouldn’t be until August 2020 that Dominik Mysterio would have his first match at that year’s SummerSlam.

Now a part of Judgment Day, Mysterio’s growth has been recognized by a former teammate, who shared his relationship with the son of the WWE Hall of Famer.

Speaking to Nick Turturro on Prince St. Pizza, Damian Priest revealed how becoming of Judgment Day helped Mysterio find direction and how their relationship grew, saying:

“It’s unreal what he has done. When I first met him he was… I wouldn’t say lost, but he didn’t have a direction. He was paired with his dad; he had short hair, clean cut. He was just wrestling and having fun.

“I think everyone decided a change needed to be made, and he joined the Judgment Day, then he and I, along with Rhea (Ripley) got a lot closer.

“It was on a daily basis that we were hanging out, it wasn’t just at the arenas, like we were going out afterwards, and he was training in Orlando, close to where I live, so then we were meeting up for dinner and stuff like that, so he was around me a lot.

“Then we really got to become like family, and it’s crazy seeing what I knew then to what I know now of him and the way he is, not the same kid. That guy is a mega star now, it’s unbelievable.”

Mysterio joined Judgment Day back at Clash at the Castle in September 2022 and remains a part of the stable, with Priest and Ripley leaving in August of 2024.

With a fraught on-screen relationship with Rey Mysterio, the Judgment Day member has recently revealed the advice he received from his father that ‘clicked’ with him.

Dominik Mysterio recaptured the WWE Intercontinental Championship from John Cena at Survivor Series: WarGames and is the current AAA Mega Champion.
