WWE Might Delay Planned Title Match For SummerSlam

WWE Might Delay Planned Title Match For SummerSlam

A few weeks ago on Raw, Andrade and Angel Garza defeated The Viking Raiders in tag team competition. As such, they earned a shot at the Street Profits’ Raw Tag Team Championships.

Despite being the number one contenders, WWE has not yet set a date for the match, and this is because they may be delaying the title bout for several weeks until SummerSlam.

A list was recently revealed of the WWE stars who haven’t been on television since testing for Coronavirus began, and Street Profits were on that list.

As such, Dave Meltzer has speculated in the Wrestling Observer Newsletter that WWE may delay the eventual Raw Tag Team Championship match between Street Profits and Garza & Andrade for SummerSlam:

“[WWE] had put things in motion for the Street Profits vs. Andrade & Angel Garza for the Raw tag titles, but with the Street Profits off television the past two weeks, and with next week’s show also already taped, that could be delayed to SummerSlam.”

Speaking of title matches potentially taking place at SummerSlam, it has been speculated that Matt Riddle is going to challenge AJ Styles at the second-biggest pay-per-view of the year for the Intercontinental Championship, in what should be a cracking match.
