Former WWE Star Stayed In Contact With Paul Heyman While Working For Rival Company WWE

After rapidly ascending the WWE ranks in his first two years on the main roster, Ken Anderson (FKA Mr Kennedy) saw his early promise dissipate following an ill-timed injury shortly after winning the Money in the Bank briefcase at WrestleMania 23 in 2007.

While he would remain in the company until 2009, Anderson would find greater success in his next move to TNA, becoming a two time world champion in a six-year stint.

Despite being released from WWE in 2009, Anderson stayed in touch with an important figure he formed a relationship with during his time there, current wise man to the Bloodline, Paul Heyman.

Heyman and Anderson developed a relationship while working together in WWE’s developmental promotion Ohio Valley Wrestling, prior to his jump to WWE TV.

In a recent appearance on Sportskeeda’s UnSKripted, Anderson elaborated on seeking advice from Heyman despite no longer working together.

Anderson said:

“Even when I got to TNA, I remained friends with Paul (Heyman), and from time to time, Vince (Russo) would hand me a script, and I would look at it and couldn’t get wrap my head around it and make it mine. It just wouldn’t seem natural to me.

“Oftentimes I would call Paul, just about every week, and say, ‘Here’s what they have given me, here’s what I think, do you have any thoughts?’

“And he would say, ‘Just stand by, I’ll fire you off an email in ten minutes,’ and five minutes later, he would send an email, and there would be some awesome additions.

“In a way, Paul Heyman was writing for IMPACT Wrestling.”

Heyman departed WWE in 2006, three years prior to Anderson, however he would return in 2012 and remain a constant presence in WWE ever since.

While Heyman predominantly worked with Brock Lesnar for much of the last 11 years in WWE, since mid 2020 he has of course served as special counsel and wise man to Roman Reigns and the Bloodline.

In a recent appearance on Rick Rubin’s Tetragrammaton show, Heyman revealed what went into the pairing with Reigns and the Tribal Chief’s stunning heel turn, to find out more follow this link here.
