Multiple WWE Layoffs As Department Being Restructured WWE

Multiple WWE layoffs reportedly have occurred as a department is being restructured within the company since the shifting of executive roles.

With the previously unimaginable news that Vince McMahon was stepping down from his role within WWE, copious trickle down business changes continue to be reported.

While some are obvious and have impact on public image of the company or the product more directly such as co-CEOs Stephanie McMahon and Nick Khan or Head of Creative, Triple H, there are other moves that make less waves.

Thankfully there are plenty of people keeping a watchful eye on the business aspects of WWE including Brandon Thurston of Wrestlenomics who reported that there were multiple layoffs within WWE recently.

Taking to Twitter, Thurston wrote:

“I’m told there were layoffs today to WWE’s marketing department. Multiple people at the VP level were let go. Possibly a part of a restructuring to that department. EVP Catherine Newman was hired this summer as the new head of marketing.”

Newman was touted as a replacement for the departing Stephanie McMahon‘s roles within the marketing team after she announced she was taking a leave of absence from the company.

Stephanie McMahon would shortly thereafter return to WWE as co-CEO along with WWE exec, Nick Khan.
