MVP Reveals Inspiration For Current WWE Character WWE

MVP has revealed the inspiration for his current character on WWE Raw, drawing comparisons between the renowned WWE Hall of Famer.

Currently, MVP serves as a manager to Omos in WWE and recently addressed this move from an active wrestler on the SUPERSTAR CROSSOVER podcast, revealing the name of the manager who served as his inspiration.

Speaking with Z100’s Josh Martinez, MVP explained:

“In my opinion, the greatest of all time, and the man who I try to pattern myself after and whom I was lucky enough to meet and have some interaction with early in my career, Bobby ‘The Brain’ Heenan.

“As a matter of fact, in my diss track to Lashley I even said, ‘Even though your name is Bobby, I got brains like Heenan.’

“I think Bobby Heenan was the best to do it because he was incredibly quick-witted, so sharp, had an incredible mind for the game.”

He would also say that a lot of fans don’t know that Heenan was a wrestler before becoming a manager and color commentator and that, with this background, Heenan was able to take bumps.

MVP also stated he’s under Paul Heyman’s learning tree, going on to describe Heyman as “everything Bobby Heenan was, minus the bumps.”

Bobby Heenan had a legendary career around wrestling and is likely to be most remember from his time in WWE and WCW.

The Brain passed away in September 2017 from organ failure due to complications from throat cancer that had been in remission since 2004.
