The real reason for WWE changing a new signing’s name has now been revealed, following their recent TV debut.
Following a WWE era of changing ring names, Triple H’s regime has seen numerous stars join the company and use their real or pre-WWE names.
With the likes of Jade Cargill, Ethan Page, Giulia and Stephanie Vaquer using their previously established monikers, some fans were confused by the decision to rename Australian wrestler DELTA.
It was revealed in a video package on this week’s (October 22) episode that DELTA will now go by ‘Zaria’ in WWE. ‘Zaria’ made her NXT debut later on in the night, appearing on the ramp in the closing moments of the show.
Per Fightful Select, DELTA’s name change to Zaria didn’t surprise their sources, as there were difficulties expected surrounding pursuing a trademark for DELTA.
This name change has been confirmed by a WWE trademark filing, with WWE submitting an application to trademark ‘Zaria’ following her debut, which you can read more about right here.
WWE has now filed to trademark a WWE stars ring name, which is derived from that star’s real name, which you can read more about right here.
