A WWE name has reportedly been removed from their SmackDown role, with an additional note on what they will be doing next on TV going forward.
According to a report from PWInsider (via WrestlingHeadlines), a recent shift in the WWE commentary teams is expected to continue.
Corey Graves is reportedly set to be “off the SmackDown brand going forward,” with Joe Tessitore set to be the lead voice on SmackDown and Wade Barrett on color commentary.
Sources note that Graves is currently scheduled for WWE NXT again next week, joining the existing two-man team of Vic Joseph and Booker T.
Corey Graves returned to the NXT commentary desk on this week’s New Year’s Evil, marking his return to the brand.
On Monday, WWE Raw debuted on Netflix with the commentary team of Michael Cole and Pat McAfee reuniting behind the desk.
While the moves may be occurring now, it doesn’t mean however that they are permanent.
Pat McAfee has served as a staple on the ESPN College Game Day panel throughout the last two seasons, reducing his WWE schedule. McAfee has not yet been confirmed for the 2025-2026 football season.
