A WWE star has reacted to an AEW Dynamite Spring BreakThru match, which took place on Wednesday, April 16, 2025.
Described as a ‘dream match’ on AEW’s Twitter account, the episode of Dynamite saw Mercedes Mone face the ROH Women’s World Champion in the Owen Hart Foundation Tournament.
The TBS Champion ended Athena’s winning streak in a match that saw neither championship on the line.
Reacting to the match, WWE’s Naomi sent both competitors a message of support after AEW Dynamite.
Naomi sent a simple tweet, tagging both Mone and Athena, posting:.
“@AthenaPalmer_FG @MercedesVarnado 💐😘”
The choice of emojis strongly suggests that Naomi was sending her love and flowers to both women after their performances.
Naomi was a former WWE Women’s Tag Team Champion alongside Mone during her run as Sasha Banks.
As WrestleMania 41 approaches, Naomi is set to take on former AEW star Jade Cargill in the latter’s first match at the key WWE PLE.
It has been pointed out that Naomi vs Jade Cargill is set to be the first non-title women’s match to take place without a stipulation in WrestleMania history.
Following the Mercedes Mone’s victory over Athena, The CEO will face the winner of Jamie Hayter vs. Kris Statlander after their match on the April 23 episode of Dynamite.
Mone and her opponent will face each other at AEW Double or Nothing on May 25.
