Following her loss in her high-stakes NXT Women’s Title tournament semi-final match against Lyra Valkyria on Tuesday’s NXT (May 23), it seems as if Cora Jade walked away more than empty handed as she showed off a nasty injury following the match.

Posting to her Instagram story Jade would reveal a nasty cut and bruising to her left eye, something that she vowed to get revenge for (pictured at bottom of this page).

Elsewhere in the other semi-final from Tuesday night Tiffany Stratton defeated Roxanne Perez to set up a bout with Valkyria at NXT Battleground on Sunday May 28.

While some fans will have anticipated a final between Jade and Perez given their storied history with one another, WWE clearly chose to subvert expectations and go the opposite route.

Despite only winning the championship at Stand and Deliver on April 1, former champion Indi Hartwell relinquished her championship almost immediately afterwards after both sustaining a legitimate ankle injury as well as being drafted to Monday Night Raw.

The ticket sales for NXT Battleground were recently revealed, with perhaps a surprising figure just days before the event takes place, follow this link here to find out more.

The card for NXT Battleground on Sunday, May 28 is as follows:

NXT Championship – Carmelo Hayes (c) vs. Bron Breakker

NXT Women’s Championship – Lyra Valkyria vs. Tiffany Stratton

Heritage Cup Championship – Noam Dar (c) vs. Dragon Lee

NXT Tag Team Championship – Mark Coffey & Wolfgang (c) vs. Brutus & Julius Creed

North American Championship – Wes Lee (c) vs. Joe Gacy vs. Tyler Bate

Last Man Standing – Dijak vs. Ilja Dragunov
