WWE Nearly Mentioning ‘AEW’ On TV Update WWE/AEW

Following Ethan Page’s NXT debut, a new report has revealed an update on WWE nearly mentioning AEW on television.

On the May 28 edition of WWE NXT, former AEW star Ethan Page made his debut by attacking NXT Champion Trick Williams to close the show.

When introducing Page on commentary, NXT announcer Vic Joseph mentioned Ethan by name and nearly mentioned “AEW” as the last place he saw “All Ego.”

Fightful Select (subscription required) provided an update, noting that Vic Joseph’s near mention of AEW was scripted.

The report confirmed PWInsider’s report that Ethan Page signed with WWE and was seen at the Performance Center last week to undergo his signing physical with the company.

NXT officials have expressed interest in Page since he left All Elite Wrestling last month.

The report also notes that Shawn Michaels stood in for Page during rehearsals and Booker T was listed on rundowns in Ethan’s place, while Shinsuke Nakamura’s theme was played during rehearsals in place of Page’s attack on Trick Williams.

Ethan Page has made his first comments following his surprise WWE NXT debut, which you can read at this link.
