Kofi Kingston has addressed the reaction to him and Xavier Woods turning on Big E during their New Day 10 year celebration segment.
While many fans expected the December 2 WWE Raw segment to be memorable, few fans predicted that Kingston and Woods would turn on Big E in such a non-physical but vicious way.
After Big E told the duo that he intended to become their full-time manager amid uncertainty about his own career, Kofi and Woods declined this offer, telling Big E that he turned his back on them and chose his new life over the New Day.
The segment ended with Kingston and Woods refusing to hug an emotional Big E, who left the arena alone.
Speaking on the Chase & Big Joe Show, Kofi Kingston addressed the reaction to this segment, noting that he’s surprised that fans didn’t understand why they did what they did.
Arguing that everything he and Woods said was factual, Kofi noted:
“I am surprised that most of these people out here don’t really understand why we did what we did. We came out there, and you can always tell when you’re right when you make an argument and you say nothing but facts.
“Everything we said on Monday night was completely factual. We told the truth. You might not like to hear what it was, but people online and social media are cussing and cursing us and there are all these insults that have nothing to do with what we’re talking about.
“I know that when you can’t bring a rational argument to the table, that means you know that you’re wrong. If you don’t have any facts for the argument. Just because you’re upset doesn’t mean you’re right.”
An update has emerged on a big roster change for the New Day following Monday’s WWE show, which you can read more about right here.
