The August 19 episode of WWE Raw saw The New Day seemingly put their feud with The Final Testament behind them.
On last night’s WWE Raw, Odyssey Jones teamed with Xavier Woods and Kofi Kingston to take on Karrion Kross and the Authors of Pain.
Highlights from the match can be seen below this news story, with Jones making his presence felt to secure the victory for New Day.
Despite The New Day picking up the win, there was yet another tease of dissension between Woods and Kingston when the latter opted to tag in Jones rather than Woods at a pivotal point in the match.
While this will only fuel expectation regarding a New Day split, Woods was all smiles in his backstage comments alongside Jones and Kingston after their match was over.
Speaking to Cathy Kelley, the trio addressed their feud with Final Testament after the WWE Raw interviewer asked if it was over.
Kofi Kingston would be the first to speak, sharing his thoughts on the situation, saying:
“I sure hope so. I hope that’s the end of it. I hope that Karrion Kross and the Final Testament realize that they cannot drive a wedge in between this. It ain’t gonna happen.
“We finally put a nail in the Final Testament, closed that chapter, and a rusty nail at that.”
Woods had a suggestion for the Final Testament after the rusty nail was put into them, adding:
“Rusty. Tetanus. Get a shot.”
Odyssey Jones would also get his chance to speak, adding:
” I was hyped. I was so happy to get out there and get my hands on them. That’s for you [Woods]. Come on, baby.”
The celebrations would continue until Kingston and Jones went off, leaving Woods to conclude:
“We got the W. That’s the winner’s purse. Go home, feed my kids. Everything’s great. It’s great.”
Elsewhere on the show, Scarlett had suggestions for how Karrion Kross could handle the loss.
