There has been an update on a potential new WWE PLE location after reports began circulating that Backlash was headed to Mexico.
In an update to a previous story, PWInsider has shared that earlier reports springing forth from a Bad Bunny interview with Rolling Stone are not accurate.
PWInsider reports that WWE sources have confirmed that WWE Backlash is not specifically set to emanate from Mexico.
In the interview with Rolling Stone, Bad Bunny shared his thoughts on what it was like to be able to bring a premium live event to Puerto Rico – where Backlash took place in May 2023 – but also dropped a tidbit fans picked up on.
Bad Bunny, who secured a win over Damian Priest at Backlash 2023, mentioned that a future Backlash was headed to Mexico.
Bad Bunny said:
“What can I tell you? It was nice. We were there until we could bring WWE to Puerto Rico.
And man, I actually feel like it was good for them and for everyone, because I saw that last year Backlash was in France, now it’s going to Mexico. They saw that it worked.”
